To present a paper or item at the Pacific Arya Mahasammellan 2016, you must be a resident of Fiji, Australia or New Zealand.

All presenters must adhere to the rules and regulations as set by the Organising Committee.

Paper Presentation

  1. The topics for papers must be from the 8 thematic tracks as follows:
    • Exploring the Vedas for World Peace, Progress and Prosperity
    • Establishing Vedic family values in this modern era
    • Re-positioning social justice in the context of the Vedas
    • The Vedas and issues relating to moral, physical, mental and spiritual development
    • Vedic Science
    • The Cycle of Birth, Death & Re-Birth and its significance in our daily life
    • Qualities of a Vedic family
    • Vedic justice system
  2. The time that may be allowed for each youth presenter can range from 5 minutes to 15 minutes. Youth age is classified as 24 years or younger as at 18 December 2016.
  3. The time that may be allowed for each adult (apart from the two main speakers) presenter can range from 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
  4. Please note that these times may change later as the final timing will depend on the number of presenters and the topics and/or the type of presentation.
  5. Once the time is allocated to a speaker it will be strictly adhered to. There will be a first warning bell two minutes before the end of the time limit. Second warning bell will be sounded 30 seconds before the end of the time limit. Presenters will be requested to stop once they have exceeded their time limit by 30 seconds.
  6. Participants will be required to quote and make references to at least one mantra from the Veda that is relevant to their topic
  7. All presenters must send the synopsis of their presentation to the Secretary Lau Raj Kumar no later  than Sunday 13 November 2016.
  8. The Sammellan organising committee reserves the right to request that certain changes be made to the presentation or refuse to allow presentations if, in its opinion, the presentation is against the Vedic Principles as propounded by Maharishi Dayananda.

Bhajans, Geets & Other Items

  1. Bhajans & Geets must be either related to the Arya Samaj or with Vedic content.
  2. Plays, dialogue roleplays and other items must be related to the Arya Samaj or pertain to Vedic Culture/content.
  3. All presenters are required to state the length in minutes of their presentation.
  4. Please note that these times may change later as the final timing will depend on the number of presenters.
  5. Once the time is allocated for the item, it will be strictly adhered to.
  6. All presenters must send a list of bhajans/geets they wish to present to the Secretary Lau Raj Kumar no later than Sunday 13 November 2016.
  7. All presenters must send the full text of their plays, dialogue roleplays and/or poems to the Secretary Lau Raj Kumar no later than Sunday 13 November 2016.
  8. The Sammellan organising committee reserves the right to request that certain changes be made to the items or refuse to allow items if, in its opinion, the items are against the Vedic Principles as propounded by Maharishi Dayananda.
