Arya Pacific… Who Are We?

The Pacific Arya Mahasammellan was born at the International Arya Mahasammellan in Sydney in 2015. This event is to be hosted by the Arya Samajs in the Pacific countries of Fiji, New Zealand and Australia on a rotational basis. New Zealand was charged to host the inaugural event in 2016.

Being the first host of this event, the Pacific Arya Mahasammellan Organising Committee in New Zealand had to do a lot of ground work and explaining around the event. We desperately needed an identity to suitably describe us all because saying “Federation of Arya Samajs in New Zealand” repeatedly was becoming a mouthful! We decided that as we are Aryas from the Pacific, the domain name of aryapacific.com will be perfect. From this we extended our collective name to the Arya Pacific Federation.

The Arya Pacific Federation is simply an alliance or network of INDEPENDENT Arya Samajs that collaborate on events of common interest such as the Pacific Arya Mahasammellan.

The independent Arya Samaj organisations in New Zealand have banded together and registered the Arya Pacific Federation Incorporated society for the purpose of organising and collaborating on major events.

So welcome AryaPacific. Let us join hands and make this journey a successful and a memorable one.

Our Logo

The logo is a representation of the Arya Pacific countries.

The canoe represents Fiji, the kiwi represents New Zealand and the kangaroo represents Australia.

The whole logo shows the kangaroo, kiwi, canoe, koru (unfurled silver fern) and silver fern combining to form part of the sail and the AUM. This symbolises that Aryas in these countries have accepted AUM (God) as their true guide. Very much like a sail decides the direction the canoe goes in.

The canoe in the sea shows that the path can be rough but we will take on all the challenges that come our way. The sea also signifies the Pacific Ocean which is our region.

The Koru (unfurled silver fern) connected to the AUM as part of the sail, shows that just as a koru unfolds and develops into a silver fern, we too are in the process of development (a developing force to be reckoned with).

Our Mascot

Meet our official mascot for the Pacific Arya Mahasammellan 2016 - AryaKiwi.

The Kiwi head represents New Zealand.

The green body is the unfurled sliver fern frond known as "Koru" in Maori. The Koru symbolises new life in the process of development and that we are a developing force to be reckoned with.

Maharishi Dayananda Saraswati Ji is our inspiration and is the core of our being. His single-handed contribution to the upliftment of humanity is unparalleled. There was no other like him in these modern times.
